A series of posts dedicated to our weekend walk now, which took us to Calf Crag.  At 1762 feet in height, it's fairly modest, and an ideal destination for a wintry walk. I have returned, from the chilly wastes of Cumbria.  We completed our walk - weather forecast said snow flurries, but the snow flurry started first thing in the morning and just kept on going throughout the day, but never mind, it was perfectly safe to walk the lower fells, and we had a lovely time.  Bit icy underfoot at times, but with a little ( Read more... )

There are two classic short walks from Grasmere village which most folk who holiday in the Lakes have done at one time or another.  The first takes you to Easdale Tarn, with the second being the walk to Alcock Tarn.
